DeGenesis Security Solution Ltd (company number 17112737, 20 Polefield Gardens, Prestwich, Manchester M25 2NW), is responsible for the personal information we collect. Contact us about anything in this policy at info@degenesissecurity.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiries and clients: name, organisation, phone, email, site address, and details of the work.
- Job applicants and officers: the details given in our application form, SIA licence details, and the identity, right to work, employment history and reference checks we carry out as part of screening.
- Shift records: officer logs and incident reports made while working on client sites, which may include details of people involved in an incident.
- Payments: invoice and payment records. We do not see or store full card details.
Why we use it
- To reply to enquiries, prepare proposals, provide our services and invoice you (to perform a contract, or take steps before one).
- To recruit and screen officers and confirm their SIA licence status (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
- To keep shift and incident records, protect our clients and officers, and deal with claims (legitimate interests), and to pass information to the police or other authorities where the law requires or allows it.
- To keep accounts and meet tax rules (legal obligation).
We do not sell your information or use it for marketing without your permission.
Who we share it with
Only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our website and form host (Netlify), our email provider, our accounting software and our bank; with clients where it relates to work on their site; and with the police, the SIA or other authorities where the law requires or allows it. Some providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 12 months.
- Client and invoice records: 6 years after the end of the tax year, as required for tax.
- Job applications: up to 6 months, unless you join us. Screening records for officers: for the time you work with us and up to 7 years after, in line with BS 7858.
- Shift logs and incident reports: up to 6 years, or longer if needed for a claim or investigation.
Cookies and this website
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and photos from Unsplash, so those services receive your device's IP address when the page loads.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@degenesissecurity.co.uk. Some records, such as incident reports, may need to be kept for legal reasons. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
